Dr. Lisa WoodyDr. Lisa Sloan Woody

Dr. Lisa Sloan Woody was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1988 after attending the University of Kentucky on a four year scholarship. In addition to her full class load, she held positions as both a microbiology teaching assistant and as an immunology research assistant. She was selected as one of only two applicants from the state of Kentucky to attend the top ranked University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While there, she served on the student ethics committee, coordinated vision care projects for the homeless, and was published as coauthor of a paper debating the risks and benefits of genetic screening. Dr. Woody received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1992 and began practicing with Dr. Ramona Porter Clifton in Bardstown a short time later. She was joined in practice by her husband in 1995. Her commitment to serving those in need has continued with over 13 years of participation in the Kentucky Vision Project - a program created to provide free services to low-income, working Kentuckians who could not otherwise afford eye care. She is also a provider for the Lion's Club and the Nelson County Community Clinic. Dr. Woody enjoys serving patients of all ages. She has a special interest in children's vision, fitting specialty contact lenses, and the treatment and management of ocular disease.

Dr. David WoodyDr. David T. Woody

Dr. David Woody was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended the University of Florida on a state scholarship where he received his Associate of Arts Degree in 1988. He was then selected as one of only two applicants to fill non-contract positions at the top ranked University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. While in Birmingham, Dr. Woody received both his Bachelor of Science degree and his Doctor of Optometry degree. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class and was given the Bernell Award for excellence in treating childrens' vision disorders. Dr. Woody has participated in the Kentucky Vision Project for over 13 years, providing free services to low-income, working Kentuckians who could not afford basic eye health and vision care. He has served as a low vision examiner for the Kentucky Department for the Blind and continues to offer low vision services through The Kentucky Low Vision Clinic, located inside Bardstown Eye Care Center, where he has practiced with his wife since 1995.  He is also a provider for the Lion's Club and the Nelson County Community Clinic. Dr. Woody enjoys serving patients of all ages. He continues have a special interest in treating the vision problems of children, treating eye disease, and fitting specialty contact lenses, including bifocal contacts and lenses that reversibly change the shape of the eyes (Wave Corneal Molding).

Dr. Bradley BlackDr. Bradley Black

Dr. Bradley Black received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Purdue University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed an internship at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis and completed his residency at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Black's academic honors include memberships in Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Beta Alpha and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. Dr. Black is assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Louisville, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Dr. Black founded what is now Eye Associates in 1983. Through a caring and proficient approach to patient care, Dr. Black guided Eye Associates to become one of the leading medical and surgical eye care practices in the area. He maintains an Ophthalmic Surgical Center of Excellence. In practice for 20 years, Dr. Black specializes in anterior segment eye surgery and is one of the most experienced surgeons in the region. As a skilled cataract surgeon, Dr. Black is committed to staying at the forefront of technology, offering only the cataract procedures that present the best possible outcomes.Dr. Black provides consultations for cataract and other eye surgeries inside Bardstown Eye Care Center. He performs cases at Flaget Memorial Hospital with state of the art equipment provided by his mobile surgical service team. He is the first eye surgeon to serve the County using this unique approach. In practice for over 20 years, Dr. Black is one of the nations most experienced ophthalmologists.
